Research Highlights:

• IST research program is supported at the undergraduate level by the “Bachelor in Instrumentation Science” program. This program is offered by the Physics Department, Faculty of Science with each enrolment of 40 students.

• Postgraduate courses in the IST field offered by the Faculty of Science such as Interfacing and Digital Signal Processing (PHY5327), Sensors and Signal Conditioning (PHY5321). These courses are also attended by postgraduate students from other faculties.

• The microwave instrumentation developments focus on generation, detection and exploitation of microwave radiation for moisture measurement of agricultural products. The research also actively engaged in the modeling of electromagnetic wave propagation for wireless applications and extraction of essential oils (MET).

• Applied optics research focus on application of Surface Plasmon Resonance sensor, Photothermal and Photoacoustic techniques to study optical and thermal properties in solid, liquid and gas.
