UPM SERDANG, October 26, 2024 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) hosted a special appreciation night, Sirih Pulang Ke Ganggang @ Homecoming XII, which was held in a festive atmosphere with the presence of honored guests, alumni, and the UPM faculty community. The event, held at the Pusat Kebudayaan & Kesenian, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah (PKKSSAAS), UPM, brought together alumni from various generations, strengthened the bonds between UPM and its graduates, and celebrated their significant contributions, especially to students, the university, and society.

The event, which began at 8:00 PM, witnessed the arrival of honored guests, including the presence of Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the Chancellor of UPM; YBhg. Dato' Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Vice-Chancellor of UPM; and Emeritus Prof. Dato' Dr. Ibrahim Komoo, Chairman of the University Board of Directors. The presence of these important figures demonstrated the strong support of the university and its top leadership for this program, further emphasizing the crucial role of alumni in shaping the future of UPM and the nation.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Anugerah Apresiasi Alumni to Mr. Asraf Mustaqim Amran, an alumni of Faculty of Science, Class of 2015, who was recognized for his dedication and outstanding achievements. He, who is also known as the founder of Dr. Gadget UPM, has made significant contributions to UPM. Among his greatest contributions are serving as Rakan Strategik Industri at Sekolah Perniagaan dan Ekonomi (SPE) UPM, sponsoring the Majlis Apresiasi Kecemerlangan Mahasiswa Jabatan Fizik (MAKEF) 2023, and various other initiatives that strengthen the relationship between the university and industry.

The Faculty of Science extends its highest congratulations to Mr. Asraf Mustaqim Amran for his extraordinary achievements. His success and commitment serve as an inspiration to UPM students and demonstrate that the spirit of dedication to one’s alma mater continues to live within alumni. The Faculty of Science hopes that his success will serve as an example for future generations in fostering strategic collaboration between alumni and the university.
