SERDANG, 6 March – The Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully conducted a Mathematics Games Project with students from Sekolah Bimbingan Jalinan Kasih in conjunction with the International Day of Mathematics 2026 held on 3rd March.

The program aimed to introduce mathematics in a more interactive and enjoyable way through a variety of mathematics-based games involving active participation from the students. This playful learning approach provided students with an engaging experience, helping them to better understand mathematical concepts in a fun and creative environment.

In addition to the main activities, the program also included a donation session by members of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics to the school in conjunction with the blessed month of Ramadan. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to community engagement and fostering values of compassion and social responsibility among university members.

The program is expected to nurture greater interest in mathematics among students from an early stage, while also strengthening the relationship between the university and the community.

Overall, the initiative not only achieved its educational objectives but also successfully promoted unity, care, and meaningful engagement among all participants involved.
