Serdang, October 26, 2024 – The Chemistry Knowledge Movement Program titled "Bonding Through Chemistry Adventure" was successfully held at Lecture Hall D and around the Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). This event, organized by the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science UPM, involved collaboration with the Chemistry Students' Club for the 2024/2025 session. The program also received support from the faculty management.

The event, which started at 7:30 AM and concluded at 5:00 PM, saw the participation of 46 committee members and 107 new students in a variety of engaging activities. The aim of the program was to provide early exposure to students about chemistry knowledge as well as soft skills, which are relevant to their academic journey at UPM.

According to Associate Prof. ChM. Dr. Haslina Ahmad, the program advisor, the event successfully enhanced participants' understanding of the application of chemistry in daily life and sparked their interest in exploring the field of chemical science more deeply. The participants were also introduced to the curriculum structure, soft skills, and career paths in the field of chemistry, making them more prepared to face academic challenges.

In terms of impact, the program provided an opportunity for students to hone their leadership and management skills, making them more competent in organizing events. Additionally, the university hopes that this program will help build students' self-confidence and improve UPM’s reputation as an institution that produces competitive and innovative leaders. Despite the smooth execution of the event, there were challenges such as the rescheduling of the event due to a clash with other campus activities. However, with effective reorganization of the schedule, these challenges were successfully overcome. Through this event, UPM once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering interest in science and producing graduates who are not only academically excellent but also competent in leadership and soft skills.
