Biophysics | Communication and Signal Processing | Microwaves | Photonic | Sensor and Instrumentation | Nondestructive testing | Ultrasonic

The research group activity is concerned with the applications of physics principles to develop innovative technological solutions for industrial, scientific and medical community. Specific research works include theory, simulation, and instrumentation of electromagnetic wave propagation at microwave frequencies focusing on the development of microwave sensors for agricultural applications. There are also interests in the design and analysis of RF and microwave passive devices that include work on material selection and characterization, circuits design, fabrication and testing of the final device.

The other research interest includes fabrication and characterization of photonic materials and sensors that is important in optical communication, medical and bio-photonics applications.  Other emerging research work include the development, simulation and analytical study of novel mid-infrared fiber laser sources that can emit laser at mid-infrared (2000nm up to 3000nm) wavelength regimes. Laser at these wavelengths have various newly emerging applications in the eye-safer region such as free-space optical communications, laser range-finding, bio-photonics optical sensing as well as in the military.
