Research in this area encompasses methods in solving numerically ordinary, delay and algebraic differential equations. Since many differential equations are stiff and computationally expensive to solve, it seems reasonable to partition a system of differential equations into subsystems of nonstiff and stiff differential equations. This partitioning is done dynamically. Another area of focus is to develop methods to solve the differential equations in parallel. Parallelisation is done across the method. For this, the emphasis currently is on Block methods. Other then that researches in interval analysis and approximation theory are also carried out.
