Zulkifly Abbas (M’97) was born in Alor Setar, Malaysia, in 1962. He received the B.Sc. degree with honors in physics from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, in 1986, the M.Sc. degree in microwave instrumentation from the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang, in 1994, and the Ph.D. degree in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Leeds, Leeds, U.K., in 2000.
He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Physics, UPM, where he has been a faculty member since 1987. He is also currently served as the Department's Head. He leads the Wave Propagation Research Group at the Institute for Mathematical Research, UPM. His main personnel research interest is in the theory, simulation, and instrumentation of electromagnetic wave propagation at microwave frequencies focusing on the development of microwave sensors for agricultural applications.
Dr. Zulkifly is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. and has been a reviewer/referee for the following impact factor journals :
