Bachelor Of Science Honours In Intrumentations Science

The field of instrumentation includes the science and art of measurement, control, and process manipulation. It involves the technology of creating, constructing, and maintaining the measurement systems and its components used in today industries and research institutions.

The Department has well equipped digital, analog, instrumentation and microprocessor laboratories that are utilized primarily for the instrumentation program. Developments of hands-on skills, critical thinking and problem-solving techniques which may be applied to research and industrial applications are included in the laboratory work.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE

For students desiring research and working experiences beyond the scope of departmental laboratory facilities, opportunities are available to the students to do industrial training assignment with participating industries and government research institutes. The industrial training covers such diverse fields as technology, research and development, industrial process control and semiconductor fabrication.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Job placement of graduates of the Instrumentation program is excellent. Graduates of the instrumentation program have gone on to successful careers such as instrumentation technologists in such diverse areas as data acquisition, process control, system integration and installation, laboratories in medical facilities. Because of the rapid pace of technological change and interdisciplinary nature of the field, it is difficult to identify all the occupational titles and areas open to the instrumentation graduates. The degree also allows them to pursue postgraduate studies in instrumentation science and related areas.
