❶ Introduction

The Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Chemistry with Honours combines fundamental chemistry knowledge like physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry with extra petroleum industry related knowledge.  The program focuses on preparing students with detail theory knowledge, petrochemical plant visits or case studies related to the petrochemicals industry.  Courses related to the petrochemical fields offered include Petroleum Chemistry, Chemical Technology Principles, Petroleum Refining Processes , Petrochemicals and Oil Spill Control.  In addition to these core courses, students can opt to take elective courses related to the petrochemicals field like Polymer Engineering and Oil and Gas Engineering.
