Serdang, 21 December 2023 – Industry network collaboration with international companies namely FUJIFILM and myNEWS is an initiative as a combination of teaching, research and income generation.

The ceremony was carried out in full splendor with the presence of YBhg. Dato' Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Vice Chancellor of UPM and Prof. Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) of UPM and other guests of honor from FUJIFILM and myNEWS.

The ceremony which started at 2.30pm until 5.30pm witnessed the exchange of MoU between UPM and FUJIFILM, the creation of the UPM-FUJIFILM Advanced Medical Physics Collaboration Center Asia Pacific Healthcare Learning Academy and the inauguration of myNEWS@Fakulti Sains.

Cooperation FUJIFILM Healthcare Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. starting around 2019 and until now this collaboration is linked through various activities. The company is a manufacturing and service provider of medical imaging modalities. As an international innovation company, the company also provides an academy platform through talks and advisory services.

The main objective of UPM and FUJIFILM is for collaboration involving the transfer of expertise and technology to develop medical imaging technology. Among the activities to be carried out are Consultation/Speaker/Innovation and product improvement as well as creating programmes and curricula to suit the needs of the industry and developing a Master of Medical Instrumentation course to meet the needs of the industry.

Meanwhile, myNEWS Holdings Berhad is a leading company known for its diversity of basic daily needs. This collaboration is one of the Faculty's income generation initiatives and overall the rental will be carried out for a period of 9 years and myNEWS will also hire part-time workers among students in need at the Faculty of Science.

It is hoped that cooperation between large companies globally with the Faculty of Science can help in teaching and research area and visibility for UPM.
