Alumni play an important role in ensuring that ties and brotherhood continue. By creating a meeting ground, surely re-use memories when revisiting Alma Mater.

The link-back ceremony and friendly meeting of Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Biology) graduates of the Faculty of Science in 1985/1986 with lecturers took place lively on 20 September 2023 at the Bilik Saintis Gemilang (BSG), Faculty of Science UPM. The main objective of the meeting is for alumni to introduce themselves/their families and careers after graduation. In addition, this kind of ceremony is the first time held at the Faculty and it is one of the starting points for cooperation between alumni and the Faculty for the future.

Coinciding with the Faculty of Science Action Plan 2020-2030, which is Faculty of Science Citizens becoming leading agents and disseminators of knowledge, hope that the experiences shared by alumni with the faculty whether in terms of learning experiences, personal character and character development or career fields can be better accepted as guidance and inspiration. In this way, alumni can also help to strengthen their confidence, channel enthusiasm and instill the culture that the university wishes to convey to its next generation of students.

It is hoped that meetings like this can continue taking into account the role, contribution of expertise and influence of alumni in forming a Faculty. Creating a channel that facilitates a close relationship between alumni and the Faculty, can provide significant benefits in enriching the experience of Faculty members while at the university. Every alumni goes through a unique and different experience from student to graduate. Therefore, there is potential for each alumni to contribute to the university in various ways and scales.
