The Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), extends its heartfelt congratulations to members of the department who have brought honour and distinction through receiving various prestigious recognitions at Majlis Gemilang Putra (MGP) 2026, held on 19 May 2026 at Dewan Besar, Pusat Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, UPM.

Among the award recipients is Puan Noor Farizatul Shida Abdul Rahman, who was honoured with the Anugerah Setia Putra, a recognition bestowed upon university staff members who have demonstrated unwavering dedication, loyalty, and commitment throughout their years of service. This recognition reflects her valuable contributions and dedicated service throughout her 20 years at UPM.

In addition, several members of the Department of Physics were honoured with the Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (APC) in recognition of their outstanding service, commitment, and continuous excellence in advancing the department and the university. The recipients are:

These recognitions reflect their dedication, leadership, and commitment in strengthening the excellence of the Department of Physics, particularly in the areas of academics, research, management, and administration.

The department also proudly celebrates the achievement of Dr. Tan Sin Tee, who received the Anugerah Fellowship Naib Canselor (Anugerah Khas Akademia Putra) Kategori Pengajaran, Pengajar Muda (Sains Tulen) in recognition of her excellence in teaching and learning, as well as her continuous contributions towards enhancing the quality of education. The award also recognises academic staff who demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching while making significant contributions towards student development.

The Department of Physics takes great pride in these achievements and hopes that they will continue to inspire all members of the department to uphold a culture of excellence, innovation, and meaningful contribution towards the advancement of the university.
