Mrs. Noriza Maslan officially ended her service after dedicating 40 years as a Science Officer Assistant at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Her retirement not only marks the end of a long career but also represents a moment of deep appreciation for all members of the department who have worked with and known her.

Affectionately known as Kak Iza, she was a highly dedicated individual, meticulous in her duties, and always ready to assist lecturers and students with laboratory matters and experiments. Throughout her service, she played a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of laboratories, maintaining equipment safety, and supporting research and teaching activities with unwavering commitment.

During her tenure, she contributed significantly to academic and technical activities within the department and was often a point of reference for both students and colleagues. Not only was she efficient in her responsibilities, but her warm personality and patience made her well-liked by everyone. Her presence consistently brightened the workplace atmosphere.

As a recognition of her outstanding contributions, Kak Iza was awarded Anugerah Perkhidmatan Melebihi 40 Tahun and Anugerah Jasa Putra Tahun 2024 during the Majlis Gemilang Putra (MGP) Universiti Putra Malaysia 2025, held on 23 May 2025. These awards represent the university’s highest appreciation for her exceptional dedication and commitment throughout her career at UPM.

We at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, UPM feel a great loss with her retirement. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for all of Mrs. Noriza’s contributions and wish her continued good health, happiness, and peace in her post-retirement life.
