Serdang, February 15, 2025 – The 28^th Industrial Chemistry Seminar (SKI-XXVIII) was successfully organized, bringing together 116 students to explore the latest advancements in industrial chemistry. The seminar, held at the Mines Beach Resort on 25^th January 2025, provided an essential platform for knowledge exchange between students, academics, and industry professionals. The event facilitated discussions on innovations and industry trends, fostering a deeper understanding of how chemistry plays a crucial role in various sectors. Industry representatives and academic experts provided valuable perspectives on the evolving field of industrial chemistry.

The seminar featured a range of engaging sessions, including plenary talks by experts from academia and industry who shared insights into cutting-edge developments in industrial chemistry. Additionally, interactive panel discussions allowed participants to engage with industry leaders on challenges and opportunities within the chemical sector. A significant highlight of the event was the student poster presentations of their Final Year Projects (FYPs), where students showcased innovative projects focusing on materials, process optimization, and sustainability.

In addition to research presentations, the seminar featured the 3-Minute Thesis Competition (3MTC), where students demonstrated their ability to communicate complex research topics concisely and engagingly. The best-dressed competition also added an element of fun, encouraging participants to showcase their creativity and enthusiasm.

The success of SKI-XXVIII highlights the importance of continuous learning, networking, and industry-academia collaboration. The event inspired students to explore the practical applications of chemistry and contribute to industrial innovation. The seminar concluded on a heartfelt note, with FYP students expressing their gratitude to their supervisors through touching speeches from student representatives and thoughtful gifts, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout their research journey. It is hoped that future editions of the seminar will continue to provide valuable learning experiences and opportunities for students to engage with industry professionals.
