Serdang, 23rd October 2025 – The Opening Ceremony of ΣTATEXPLORE 2025 in conjunction with National Statistics Day 2025 was successfully held at the Al-Khawarizmi Seminar Room, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

With the theme “Statistics in the AI Era: Driving Sustainable Development and Innovation”, the event was organised by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science, UPM to promote awareness of the importance of statistics in national development, particularly in the context of technological advancement and artificial intelligence (AI).

A series of engaging activities have been planned from October to December 2025, involving the participation of students, staff, and the university community. Upcoming programmes include STATCONNECT, STATINSIGHT DATATHON, and STATRUN 2025.

The Department extends its heartfelt appreciation to all who attended and contributed to the success of the ceremony. It is hoped that ΣTATEXPLORE 2025 will continue to inspire interest in the field of statistics and strengthen the role of data science in advancing sustainable development and innovation.
