The award presentation session to the recipients was conducted with full ceremony as a symbol of recognition for the excellence of students from the Department of Physics.
SERDANG, 19 December – The Majlis Apresiasi Kecemerlangan Mahasiswa Jabatan Fizik, better known as MAKeF, is a programme aimed at recognising and celebrating students of the Department of Physics who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in academics, leadership, co-curricular activities, and entrepreneurship.

The organisation of MAKeF reflects the Department of Physics’ commitment to producing well-rounded, balanced, and competitive graduates. Through this awards ceremony, students who have demonstrated consistent dedication throughout their studies are recognised for their contributions and achievements, while also serving as a source of inspiration to others.
Among the awards presented were the Anugerah Inspirasi Akademik Abdul Halim Shaari, Anugerah Aspirasi, Anugerah Quantum Leap, and Anugerah Perdana Siswa. The main MAKeF award, the Anugerah Tokoh Siswa Fizik Sidek Ab Aziz, was won by Ahmad Danish Iskandar bin Mohd Fadzil and presented by Associate Professor Dr Muskhazli Mustafa, Deputy Dean of Development and Networking, Faculty of Science.
MAKeF 2025 also introduced three new awards, namely the Anugerah Teras Bakti, Anugerah Bitara Optik, and Anugerah Bitara Sinaran, which were contested for the first time. Each award was conferred based on specific criteria assessing students’ efforts, commitment, and impact on the department and the wider community.

The ceremony also served as a platform to strengthen ties between the department’s management, academic staff, and students. In addition, MAKeF is expected to foster a spirit of excellence and a culture of healthy competition among students of the Department of Physics.
In his speech, the Head of the Department of Physics, Associate Professor Dr Mohd Mustafa Awang Kechik, emphasised that the awards presented during the ceremony clearly reflect MAKeF’s holistic approach, which evaluates excellence not solely on academic achievement, but also considers the contributions, talents, and potential of Physics students across various fields. This approach aligns with the MAKeF slogan, “Empowering Potential, Driving Outstanding Performance”, which underpins the organisation of the ceremony each year.
