Dengkil, 26 Ogos 2024 - In conjunction with the Science and Mathematics Week organized by SMK Dengkil, the school took the initiative to invite members from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to conduct a Mathematics Recreational Program. This program was designed as an innovative and enjoyable approach to learning Mathematics. The activities conducted aimed not only to educate but also to entertain students. Through various activities such as exhibitions, Mathematics games, and group activities, the program hoped to change students' negative perceptions of Mathematics, making it more engaging and relevant to everyday life.

The program, which took place on August 21, 2024 (Wednesday) at SMK Dengkil, involved 220 students from Form 1 and Form 3 at the school. Key activities included games like "Whispering Math," "Honey & Poison," and "Math-Bingo." Each game was designed to test focus, memory, teamwork, and help students review Mathematics in an interactive manner. Students were divided into 10 groups and competed in each game to solve Mathematics problems.

The program also involved 15 lecturers and 5 undergraduate students from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UPM, who played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the program. As a result, students had the opportunity to experience a fun Mathematics learning process through the games and activities provided, fostering interest and enhancing their understanding of the subject.

The Principal of SMK Dengkil, Mrs. Norliza binti Mohd Noah, and the Senior Science and Mathematics Teacher, Mrs. Umi Sazilah, fully supported the program, which is hoped to have a positive impact on Mathematics learning among students.
