12 October 2024 - After nearly six years, the KWK bowling tournament returned this year, reigniting a long-lost platform for the department members to showcase their hidden talents. Despite a fresh semester that had just commenced weeks prior, the enthusiasm among the Chemistry Department members was undeterred. To mark this joyous occasion, it was strategically held on October 12th, aligning with Malaysia Sports Day. This gave department staff the opportunity to strengthen bonds not only among colleagues but also with family members who attended to join in the spirited competition. The event saw an impressive turnout of around 70 participants, with 44 individuals competing for the attractive prizes on offer.

The tournament kicked off with the inaugural throw by KWK Chairman, Associate Professor Dr. Bimo Ario Tejo, officially marking the beginning of the competition. After about 2 to 3 hours and three rounds of play, fatigue began to set in, with sore arms and tired legs becoming evident, and the occasional "gutter ball" drawing cheers and laughter. The lively atmosphere, filled with cheers and camaraderie, embodied the spirit of competition and unrelenting determination. Finally, the much-awaited results were announced, and prizes were presented to the winners by Dr. Bimo and the Head of the Chemistry Department, Associate Professor Dr. Emilia Malek. Congratulations to all the winners!

The event concluded with a brief speech by Dr. Emilia, who expressed gratitude and ensured that no participant left empty-handed, as tokens of appreciation and lunch were provided. With smiles of satisfaction on every face, Dr. Emilia wished that all KWK members would return home with a sense of joy and fulfillment from this memorable day. God willing, we look forward to future events.
