SERDANG –A total of 32 schools with the participation of 1,345 participants consisting of primary school, secondary school and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) students participated in the JOM SAINS 2022 CARNIVAL program which was conducted by the Faculty of Science Students Association (FaSSA), UPM. The program organized on 21-22 June 2022 has garnered participation from various states such as Selangor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Terengganu and the Federal Territory of Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.

The 2 -day program with the theme "The Rise of The Glorious Young Scientists" was held at the Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia. provides various exciting activities and competitions such as DIY Science Workshop, STEM Exhibition, STEM Outdoor Challenge, Putra Science Olympiad, 4 Minutes Duo Science Talk, Putra Science Video Challenge and Science Gallery. The carnival was also enlivened with stalls that included souvenirs, food and drinks. Activities and competitions can not only provide new experience and knowledge in the field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or in short STEM to participants, but also participants can improve thinking skills and practice healthy competition.

Also attended by Yang Berbahagia Prof. Dato 'Dr. Mohd Roslan Bin Sulaiman, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia following a visit to the carnival and Prof. ChM. Dr. Mohd Basyaruddin Abdul Rahman, FASc, FRSC, FIAAM, Dean of the Faculty of Science who was also present to officiate the closing ceremony of CARNIVAL JOM SAINS 2022 on 22 June 2022. Program director, Nor Izwan Hakimi Bin Nor Azmi stated that this program can be a signpost for participants in delve into the field of science in everyday life.

“I hope that the participants can gather as much knowledge, experience and skills as possible throughout the program. The application of STEM knowledge needs to be applied at a young age. As the saying goes, bend the bamboo, let it be from the shoots, ”he said – UPM
