December 2, Serdang – The Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science, organized the StatsWalk program on November 15, 2024 (Friday), which took place around the streets within the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Serdang campus.

A total of 124 first-year undergraduate students from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, 14 facilitators, and 22 staff members from the department participated in making this program a success.

Through the StatsWalk program, students had the opportunity to directly apply basic statistical concepts through active learning activities conducted around the UPM campus. In this way, students not only learned theoretical concepts in the classroom but also honed practical skills required in statistics, such as observation, data recording, and the interpretation of information firsthand.

It is hoped that this activity will benefit the students and make learning statistics more engaging, relevant, and memorable.
