The Green Dream Innovation Competition, Youth Action 2.0.

This competition, held for the second time, aims to shape a young generation capable of preserving and protecting the environment. The program is led by Associate Professor ChM. Dr. Norizah Abdul Rahman along with several lecturers from the Department of Chemistry, UPM, and students from the Chemistry Student Club (KMK), UPM.

The program aims to raise awareness among the public about the importance of reduction, reuse, and recycling (3R), especially among high school students. The Malay proverb "melentur buluh biarlah dari rebungnya," which means "bend the bamboo while it's still a shoot," illustrates the importance of educating the younger generation from an early age. This program also aims to provide early exposure to the younger generation, who will be the future backbone of the nation's development, regarding the importance of preserving and conserving the beauty of the environment. This effort is crucial to ensure a stable ecosystem balance and to sustainably advance the nation's progress and development to a higher level.

More than 600 participants from across the country registered to join this competition. Students from Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor emerged as the competition champions, followed by students from SMK Kampung Dangar in second place, and students from SMK Paloh, Gua Musang in third place. Consolation prizes were awarded to students from Maahad Tahfiz Negeri Pahang (MTNP) and SMK Datuk Peter Mojuntin.

The winners received cash prizes and certificates of appreciation from MOSTI and UPM. According to Associate Professor ChM. Dr. Norizah Abdul Rahman, "We are very proud of the achievements of the participants who have demonstrated creativity and innovation in finding solutions to environmental problems. It is hoped that this competition can become a platform to shape future leaders who are concerned about environmental sustainability."
