The Department of Physics, UPM brought a delegation of 35 students, accompanied by several academic staff members, including the Head of Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Mustafa Awang Kechik, to participate in the Malaysia Semiconductor Recruitment Day 2025, held at KLCC from 8 to 11 October 2025.
This prestigious event brought together leading companies in the semiconductor industry such as Infineon, Texas Instruments, STMicroelectronics, AMD, Supermicro, and many others. It offered valuable opportunities for students to apply for jobs and internships directly with industry representatives, while also gaining insights into the latest developments and career prospects in the high-tech sector.
The programme was officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Chief Minister of Selangor, who emphasised the importance of nurturing local talent to support the growth of Malaysia’s semiconductor industry. This participation not only provided valuable professional networking opportunities for UPM Physics students but also strengthened academia–industry collaboration towards producing competitive graduates aligned with the needs of today’s job market.
