UPM students travel to Kimia Malaysia for university trip

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia – On 22 June 2023, a captivating lecture by renowned deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) scientist Puan Nor Aidora binti Saedon took place at a prestigious venue in Petaling Jaya. The event is a part of teaching activity of CHM5002 Laboratory Safety course, which is coordinated by Prof. Datuk ChM Dr. Taufiq Yap Yun Hin. It was attended by 14 postgraduate students and Dr. Mohd Rashidi Abdull Manap from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and participants from The National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM).

Puan Nor Aidora binti Saedon, Director of Forensic DNA Division is a distinguished figure in the field of DNA field, shared her profound knowledge and insights with the enthusiastic audience. The lecture entitled safe handling and processing of DNA evidence covered a wide range of applications of DNA forensic and its importance in criminal investigation.


The postgraduate students, who are pursuing their studies in chemistry and other related fields, were particularly captivated by Puan Nor Aidora binti Saedon's presentation. Her expertise and passion for the subject inspired and motivated the students, providing them with a unique opportunity to expand their understanding of DNA forensic and its applications.

 

Dr. Mohd Rashidi Abdull Manap, senior lecturer and esteemed faculty member from the Department of Chemistry, expressed his appreciation for the lecture, stating, "Puan Nor Aidora binti Saedon's lecture was truly enlightening. It provided our students with valuable insights into the world of DNA forensic and its relevance to our science field.
