Dean's Message

Welcome to the Official Website of Faculty of Science. The Faculty of Science was first established as the Basic Science Division in 1972 and has gone through several restructuring processes and now the Faculty of Science consists of four departments namely: Department of Biology, Department of Chemistry, Department of Mathematics and Statistics and Department of Physics. Our vision is in line with one of UPM's objectives, which is to become a center for education, research and development in the field of science. 

As a faculty in a research university, the Faculty of Science is ready to shape and mold students to become science graduates who think critically and creatively and are ready to face the job market, or even continue their studies to postgraduate level. The undergraduate program is designed to provide a solid foundation in core areas and to form a scientific perspective. Knowledge and skills are imparted to students by well-trained and experienced academic officers, using appropriate and effective teaching and learning methods and supported by the latest facilities. The faculty also offers postgraduate programs in various fields of basic and applied science. This graduate program prepares graduates to become trained scientists in their chosen field. 

The quality of our lecturers and the research carried out in the faculty is recognized nationally and internationally. Every year academic officers publish hundreds of research articles in journals and win many research awards. The faculty is also among the recipients of the largest research grants at UPM and always strives to improve the record it has achieved. Thank you for visiting our website.
